This spirits brand, based in India, is still in production and has yet to launch into the market. But our box, bottle, and label designs have already expanded their business plans.
The client came to us with a distinctive name for their blend of Scotch whisky and bourbon, but no other brand assets. We drew inspiration from old advertising and photographs to create a design that — like the spirit itself — is at once vintage and modern. Sepia coloring and shading resembles aged paper, and layers of detailed imagery including feathers, footprints, natural motifs, and calligraphic lines invite a closer look. The label is highly tactile; pass your hand over the paper and you’ll feel the embossed and debossed elements.
The client was so inspired by our initial work that she thought the label deserved a custom bottle, so we designed a vessel inspired by classic bourbon bottles with a distinctive shape and an embossed stamp. (Notably, we managed production long-distance through months of covid-related manufacturing delays.) And we created a shipping box that’s elegant enough to give as a gift, with the same level of craftsmanship and detail present in the label. We are currently working on a promotional video for the brand.
Our work also transformed the client’s business model. Where initial plans called for launching the product solely in India, the company now has its sights on exporting globally. Three Crazy Cock Whisky blends will reach store shelves in 2021.
